HIA Industry Update

Over 500 members of the local residential construction industry were on hand when the winners and finalists were announced at the prestigious 2016 HIA-CSR Hunter Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards ceremony on Saturday 22 October.

Held before a crowd of industry leaders and peers from across the Hunter and Central Coast regions, the awards acknowledge the talent of designers, builders, suppliers and manufacturers who plan and construct quality new homes, townhouses, renovations, kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor projects.

Judged by industry professionals, winners were selected in 24 separate categories. NHS partnered with the HIA to award the Renovation/Addition Project of the Year Award and its price point subcategories at the Awards ceremony.

The overall winner of the Renovation/Addition Project of the Year Award was presented to Croese Building for their project at Bolwarra (pic above). Judges were ‘impressed with the outstanding design & functionality of this project, which took into account the clients’ needs and requirements that were all fulfilled to the utmost with top notch finishes and workmanship’. Earlier in the evening the award winning home also won the Bathroom Project of the Year.

Millbrook Homes took out the coveted 2016 HIA-CSR Hunter Home of the Year Award and Custom Built Home of the Year awards. Other significant winners on the night, included Yarrum Designer Homes for ‘Display Home of the Year’, Rawson Homes for ‘Project Home of the Year’, and Williams Designer Homes and Groves Joinery were joint winners for ‘Kitchen Project of the Year’.

Croese Building and overall winners in major categories will now represent the HIA Hunter region at the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards in 2017 to compete for national titles against winners from other HIA Regions.
