BAL Ratings
Hume Doors & Timber has extensively tested it’s range of doors and door frame systems, which include both hinged and pivoted entry frame systems in meranti up to 2700 x 1200, to meet the AS1530.8.1 criteria set for buildings in BAL12.5 (Bushfire Attack Level – 12.5) zoned areas.
Hume
Hume’s Bushfire Resistant door range (BFR) is:
- Suitable for BAL12.5, BAL19 & BAL29 Bushfire zones when installed as per Australian Standard AS3959-2009-AMDT3-2011
- Solid Core Construction
- Available in Tempered Hardboard for Paint Finish or Veneer options for Stain finish
- Glazed with 6mm Tempered Safety Glass
- Available in a wide range of designs
It is also important to ensure that your door frame meets the requirements of AS3959. If your door is suitable for a specific BAL level, but your frame is not, you will not be able to gain certification, as your entryway will not comply with Australian Standard AS3959 and will need to have an independent certifier sign off on the door and frame.
