2016 National Construction Code Changes

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some significant changes to the Australian Building Code and referenced Australian Standards.

The 2016 National Construction Code now clearly identifies the types of approved fastening systems that must be designed, specified and installed for all construction projects built under the NCC.
All ‘Safety Critical’ applications must now be designed in accordance with SA TS101:2015. Fastening systems/products must be tested and certified to meet the minimum requirements under the Standard.

The definition of safety critical anchoring is clearly defined within the standard and will cover many of the common applications on site such as balustrades, pipe hanging, cable tray, suspended ceilings & ductwork, structural steel, and facades to name a few.
